Recently, two of my daughters and I were house sitting & cat worshipping and i perused the local FREECYCLE site. Saw a local interior designer (ENSOR INTERIORS) offering out of date sample books. Sounded exciting and were still available so i came over smartly. They were so lovely and amazing!
Things i noticed about the ladies at ENSOR INTERIORS were:
their obvious passion for their job
their talent and designer's eye
their artistic and/or creative flair
the quality of what was in their shop
and their amazing kindness and friendliness, as if i were an old friend.
I lost count at 17 of how many books there were! I figure (hoped) they never saw my stifled excited hyperventilation. It was breathtaking!
My CRAFT FEVER returned with something new!
Firstly, my eldest daughter and I found such pleasure in just looking at the samples.
But ideas burned in my brain. I have about 100 projects in my head, with no means to realise them...thick covered back of a sample book, and i saw it!....a platform for my children's chore chart!
In the process, i discovered the little plastic price list pockets that were attached to each book, would make excellent chore, ticket and reward card holders!! I used ribbon from my sewing box and husband's double sided sticky tape.
Pinterest found me the downloads for the actual cards, at the amazing CONFESSIONS OF A HOMESCHOOLER website. Her chore chart plan is absolute gold!

Below are the tokens, tickets, cards and stickers for the chart

So ultimately this project cost me very little.
I either used what i have at home:
200gsm white card
double sided tape
ribbon
photos printed on plain paper
four pocket folder sleeve
ID badge plastic pocket
small stickers
And saved from going to the tip:
The board and little plastic pockets
Incredibly satisfying.
Very simple project: cut out the wall paper and stick on!

Here i made, or rather covered a box id been using for pegs. I used good old PVA to stick it on, and wallpaper, i dimly discovered just then, doesn't buckle and warp like thinner paper does! so it was/IS the perfect type of paper to use to cover things. I was going to PVA on the outer surface, to seal, waterproof and protect, but at this point i have not needed to.

*not really that many, will be featured here, but the possibilities ARE endless aren't they!
