Well, in my opinion back up until around the time i was born, things were made to last! 1970s Kenwood food processors are still being sold as being in "great condition".

The direct descendent of that, you'll find being sold "for parts or repair, not working".

I currently own a 1970/80s Frister-Rossman German sewing machine, a 1960s Optima German typewriter, and several circa 1950s suitcases, and a vanity case. Oh i must not forget my 1940s retirement mantle clock!

They all give me so much joy to use. I cant quite pin point why. My typewriter, i find is easier to type with, than a modern keyboard, and it's lightyears ahead of my smartphone "keyboard".

This end of school year just gone, i typed the kids' teacher's thank you letters on my typewriter, and gave them some gifts from the amazing local Morden-born charity called ZIMKIDS.

The teachers loved it, and Rosie's teacher actually came up to me and said she cried when she opened it, and that it was SUCH an amazing idea.

Wait, did i imply I'M vintage?!

*think 007!
